In the year of his birth, Stallone's trademark smile resulted from an accident with a forceps. This accident caused the loss of the nerve that left the actor in a state of utter silence. Stallone was a troubled youngster. He and his older brother Frank, were adversely affected from their parents' antagonistic relationshipthat eventually ended in divorce. Stallone was a child in foster care. Stallone when he was just only five years old, relocated with his family to Washington, D.C., where his father started his own beauty salons. Stallone lived for a long time in Maryland where he lived with his father from 1957, the year his parents split up. The actor had an extremely difficult time mentally and academically, and was forced to abandon several schools.
